House Extension, Weston Longville

This extension to a Victorian farmhouse is unashamedly modern to compliment the existing house and the more traditional extensions to the building elsewhere.

The construction is predominantly single storey with a two storey link containing the dining room and en suite bathroom. The construction is mainly bespoke post and beam utilising laminated timber members. The frame is highly insulated and both the walls and roof are clad with heat-treated timber boarding. The boarding requires no maintenance and over time will change in colour to silver-grey.

The glazing is of extremely high quality incorporating very slim framing members.

The extension utilises underfloor heating fed by a ground source heat pump. There is also ‘whole house’ ventilation with heat recovery and cooling.
